Let Our Experience
Be Your Guide

There may be many individuals in Louisiana and elsewhere who are drawn to the appeal of products that contain all natural ingredients. Unfortunately, what is written on the label of a product might not always reflect the actual contents. The Organic Consumers Association has recently filed a false advertising lawsuit against Twinings North America accusing the company of misleading customers into believing certain products contained only natural ingredients.

The lawsuit reportedly stems from labels on certain Twinings tea products that boasted the use of all natural ingredients. According to reports, the OCA claims that tests performed during a recent investigation uncovered the presence of a synthetic herbicide and unnatural insecticides. Representatives within the OCA assert that the results of these tests also indicated that two of the chemicals used in the manufacturing of these products are known neurotoxins.

In addition, the OCA asserts that one of the chemicals, Glyphosate, was previously classified as a possible carcinogen. Following the investigation, the OCA filed a claim accusing Twinings of misleading consumers into believing their products contained only natural ingredients. The OCA has accused the company of attempting to take advantage of the growing appeal of similar types of products.

The outcome of a dispute pertaining to allegations of false advertising can have a substantial impact on the futures of all parties involved. Upon encountering a similar situation, a person could choose to seek advice on his or her available options and what to expect from the subsequent process by consulting with an attorney with experience in such matters. An attorney can examine the circumstances a client in Louisiana is facing and assist him or her in pursuing the best outcome achievable through the necessary channels.
